Grand Hotel Timeo will open on 2nd May until 30th November 2025. Grand Hotel Timeo, A Belmond Hotel, Taormina places guests on Sicily’s breathtaking front row. Carved into the hilltop alongside the ancient Greek Theatre, this classical villa became Taormina’s first hotel in 1873. A Grand Tour favorite among young intellectuals, the hotel went on to attract a wealth of artists and aristocrats. Writers from DH Lawrence to Truman Capote and cinematic greats from Greta Garbo to Federico Fellini came to experience the timeless Sicilian glamour. The spellbinding views of Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea continue to inspire luminaries from around the world today.

Timeo’s six acres of gardens are nestled between natural cascading terraces of bougainvillea, orange blossoms and geraniums. Guests can retreat here to cool off in the scenic swimming pool, enjoy an indulgent treatment in Le Jardin des Rêves Dior spa and linger over gourmet picnics on the manicured lawns. Beautiful, sun-filled rooms and suites are furnished in Sicilian Baroque style, including the signature Floresta Suite with its magnificent terrace and jacuzzi boasting hypnotic sea views.

The dining scene is exceptional, from the Michelin-starred cuisine at Otto Geleng and the Sicilian specialties served at Ristorante Timeo to the succulent grilled delicacies at Timeo Grill. Every evening should begin or end with a sublime cocktail on the panoramic Literary Terrace.

Guests are welcome to take the complimentary shuttle to sister hotel Villa Sant’Andrea to enjoy the exclusive beach club, Lido Villeggiatura, on the Bay of Mazzarò. Further inspiring activities include tours of Taormina by Ape Calessino, wine tastings on Mount Etna and rare access to noble palaces and artists’ studios in baroque Noto.

Superior Room

Our spacious Superior Room is located in the hotel's main building and features a charming furnished balcony. Unwind with an alfresco aperitif or take a relaxing bath in the elegant marble bathroom. You have the choice of one king-size or two twin-size beds, always with luxury linens and a pillow-top mattress. The Superior Room connects to a Greek Theatre Suite upon request.

Deluxe Sea View Room With Balcony Or Terrace

Located in the Timeo Building, each room offers a balcony or terrace, most with beautiful views of the Bay of Naxos and Mount Etna. These rooms, enhanced with typical Sicilian cotto tile floors, feature either a king-size or twin beds and bathrooms with either a bathtub or separate shower. Eight rooms are connecting.

Deluxe Sea View Junior Suite With Balcony Or Terrace

These suites recall the grandeur of early 20th-century aristocratic Sicily. Located in the Timeo Building, they enjoy stunning views of the Bay of Taormina, with glimpses of Mount Etna, and have balconies and terraces where guests can enjoy breakfast. Bedrooms offer a king-size or twin beds. Marble bathrooms feature a bathtub, and some benefit from a separate shower. One room is connecting.

Premium Sea View Junior Suite With Terrace

These suites located in the Timeo Building all afford spectacular sea views with glimpses of Mount Etna, and have spacious terraces equipped with sun loungers, chairs and a table. They feature either a kingsize or twin beds. The marble bathroom has a bathtub, and in some suites there is a separate shower. Three rooms are connecting.

Deluxe Sea View Suite With Balcony Or Terrace

Furnished in Sicilian baroque style, these luxurious suites in the Timeo Building all feature living areas, marble bathrooms with a separate shower cubicle, bathtub, beautifully furnished double vanity basins and armoires. The bedrooms have a king-size or twin beds. Amazing views of the Bay of Taormina can be absorbed from the private balcony or terrace. No connecting rooms.

Greek Theatre Suite

This one-bedroom suite, located on the top floor of the Timeo Building, boasts magnificent views of the sea and the Greek Theatre from its inviting terrace. The suite offers a living area and a spacious marble bathroom with separate walk-in shower cubicle and bathtub. The bedroom can be fitted with either a king-size or twin beds. This suite can be connected to a Superior Room and to a Premium Junior Suite.

La Floresta Suite

From its spectacular 300 sq m (3,230 sq ft) terrace overlooking the Bay of Taormina, guests savour a 180-degree panorama, stretching from the medieval village of Castelmola to Mount Etna and all the way down to the Bay of Naxos and the Greek Theatre. The terrace is the perfect setting for elegant private parties and also boasts a Jacuzzi overlooking the sea below. This sophisticated suite, decorated in Sicilian baroque style, is located in the Timeo Building and features two bedrooms, each with either a king-size or twin beds. There are two marble bathrooms, one offers a bathtub and separate walk-in shower. The other has a walk-in shower. No connecting rooms.

Seating just 16, our Michelin-starred restaurant with stunning views evokes a noble Sicilian family home. Executive Chef Roberto Toro’s menu is a culinary riff on classic Mediterranean fare. Open from 2nd May, Wednesday to Sunday. Dinner: 20:00-22:00

Pool Bar
