Crystal is revered for its personalized service, passenger-to-crew ratio, onboard elegance, and enriching destinations. But it’s the company’s “care for you like family” style that has turned regular cruise-loving passengers into super fans. But don’t take our word for it, read what some of the most loyal passengers of Crystal have to say about the line’s exceptional traits.
A resident of Orlando, Florida, June Nelson has been an avid Crystal cruiser for 35 years, ever since she and her mother boarded the Crystal Harmony in the late 1980s. Since then, she’s sailed more than 35 times with Crystal, many sailings with her beloved husband, Jack, and their two daughters. They even celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on a Crystal cruise to the Panama Canal. Grandkids and sons-in-laws later joined as well. When Jack passed away in 2015, June knew one of the best ways to cope with her grief was to get back to sea — it’s what she and Jack loved most.

“It was daunting, taking my first trip alone, but when I embarked, I knew a lot of the staff and crew immediately,” June Nelson says. “One waiter in the dining room even remembered my mother and me on Crystal Harmony.” Since then, she’s been aboard for the World Cruise, and has another planned. She says the reason for her loyalty to Crystal is simple: “It’s that feeling of family that returns time after time. Every time I embark, I feel like I am home and safe. The crew is happy. They come back year after year, they get to know you and you, them, and their families. It is an incredible home to have while you are sailing the seas.”
Anne Marie and Keith Steiner share June Nelson’s sentiment. They earned their Crystal sea legs in 2002 and have been dedicated passengers ever since. With an incredible 1,600 days of sailing over the course of 117 voyages, including eight World Cruises, it’s safe to say they’ve been “Crystalized.”

“The crew feels like family to us; never once have we felt like a number,” Keith Steiner confirmed. He recalled a trip to Sintra in Portugal when he and Anne Marie forgot to purchase pasteis de nata. They bemoaned their oversight as they headed to dinner. By the time they arrived back in their cabin, a box of the famous custard tarts was waiting for them. “This is what I’m talking about when I say Crystal’s service is second to none. It’s just exceptional,” he adds.
