Wellness at sea? Ultimate Experiences Editor-in-Chief Erin Lentz shares four reasons
to sail with Windstar Cruises, stat!
Iam an avid scuba diver, so when I was given the chance to sail to French Polynesia with Windstar Cruises, I was all in. Not only had Tahiti, Mo’orea, and Bora Bora long been on my travel wish-list, but as a fitness and adventure junkie residing in the mountains, the ocean is my favorite escape.
While the Windstar experience—small luxurious ships with just 148 to 342 guests, stellar amenities and staff, plus unique cultural immersions—was enticing enough, its wellness and sports offerings were a huge lure. During my unforgettable journey, the first morning was spent scuba diving off the coast of Mo’orea. Beneath the beautiful sea, I was surrounded by a school of barracuda so dense it whipped up a silver current, inviting black-tip reef sharks to curiously dart back and forth between us. The intense experience immediately turned strangers into friends, two of whom I remain in touch with to this day.
I also dove for freshwater pearls, visited a local market with the Windstar chef and shopped for fresh produce (onboard cuisine is seasonal and delicious), and was impressed by the serene onboard spa and wellness program.

If you’re like me and crave a seaworthy escape that keeps wellness and health top of mind, here are four reasons to sail with Windstar.
1. NEW: Mind, Body, and Spirit Collection. Debbie Dixon—life coach, author, and yoga teacher—is hosting Windstar’s new Mind, Body and Spirit Collection, a series of four voyages in 2025. Participating guests will enjoy daily meditation sessions, classes in breathwork, and yoga practices, with inspirational wellness conversations focused on mental, physical, and spiritual health. In addition to Windstar’s plentiful wellness culinary options (vegan, vegetarian, and heart-healthy cuisine), a special pop-up bar with pack-a-health-punch elixirs is designed to improve body and mind.
2. Underwater Discovery. If active adventure gets you revved, the South Pacific, Caribbean, and Costa Rica await. Whether you choose snorkeling, scuba diving, or helicopter flightseeing (my vote is for all three!), every experience with Windstar is curated to your personal preferences, replacing any hesitation with once-in-a-lifetime adventure. You can also opt for a more low-key catamaran or boat cruise, walks along secluded beaches, and indelible rainforest hikes. In the South Pacific, navigate the islands by 4×4, kayak a local river, or check out a black pearl farm—an experience I’ll never forget, and my gorgeous black pearl still hangs from my necklace.

3. Aqua Adventure. On every Windstar sailing, take advantage of the Watersports Platform, which accesses various scheduled activities throughout the day (conditions and itinerary dependent), including windsurfing and paddle boarding while at anchor.
4. Conscious Cuisine. Through Windstar’s partnership with the James Beard Foundation, stellar food and wine is a daily indulgence, and clean eating—with ingredients sourced from each port along the journey is always available, so you can indulge as much as desired, yet balance out any guilty pleasures with healthful and nutritious meals. Windstar also offers cooked-to-order meals and onboard cooking demos and classes. Cheers!

Let adventure fill your sails.

I’m a traveler first. I’m one of the lucky ones where my passion became a job and then a career that has allowed me to travel the world. I will always be a traveler, but now I have the pleasure of consulting with clients to make their dreams, celebrations and aspirations become reality.
I’m also a wanderer, student of life, nomad and aspiring photographer! All of these passions and interests allow me to see the world in a different light and share them with my clients and friends.
I am blessed to work with people who are chasing a dream or looking to experience something personal. Whether it is traveling to The Amazon and Equador on a personal exploration trip, a mother and son traveling to Rome to explore their roots or a family traveling to celebrate a special occasion - it is truly an honor that I am able to be a small part of making the journey a lifelong memory.
