The learning continues on board as a team of naturalists, each certified by the Galápagos National Park, ensure an enriching, engaging, and educational voyage. These handpicked experts are all permanent residents of the islands, providing a unique perspective to help guests connect with the pristine natural environment. While real-world exploration is the focus, advanced lectures, slideshows, and personal discussions are hosted in the ship’s Explorer Lounge. Meanwhile, Basecamp is an interactive and innovative “knowledge lounge.” Here, guests will find an endless supply of books, learning materials, and equipment to provide a deeper understanding of the exceptional ecosystem around them.

Nautical

Snorkeling and kayaking opportunities are plentiful too, with sea turtles, manta rays, white-tipped reef sharks, sea lions, and tropical fish all likely to make an appearance. Lucky snorkelers might spot Galápagos Penguins, dolphins, hammerhead sharks, humpback whales, or the native marine iguana — found nowhere else on earth. Even better, all equipment is included, so there’s no need to cram gear into your suitcase or pack a wetsuit.

Just because the Galápagos Islands are unspoiled doesn’t mean you’ll be. Silversea’s Silver Origin offers every luxury imaginable, including 50 all-suite accommodations, private balconies, personalized butler service, indulgent interiors, premium bed linens, and large floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the ship that usher in sweeping views of nature’s majesty. Amenities like a fitness area and pampering spa services are an unexpected bonus. Environment at Sea

Touted by Silversea as “the most environmentally conscious ship we have ever built,” Silver Origin was designed with the destination and environment in mind. The ship features a dynamic positioning system crafted specifically to protect the delicate seabed and limit impact on wildlife. Guests are gifted a metallic reusable water bottle upon arrival to reduce the need for single-use plastic bottles. These can be filled in the reverse osmosis fresh-water purification systems located in each suite and throughout the ship. Exterior lighting is also dimmed to avoid disturbing animals after dark. There’s also the Silversea Fund for the Galápagos, a fund created by Silversea and dedicated to safeguarding the archipelago for future generations to enjoy.
